I mean, its been months now...nothing even close to a WMD has been found, is it safe to just say there aren't any to find?

They may find something eventually. Hell, even if they have to plant it. However, it will do little to justify the war.

What have we gained?

Security?
Hardly. First of all, itr wasnt Iraq who commited the 9-11 terror attack. Secondly, the radical arabs do not fear the shock and awe explosivness of the American military. These people do not fear death, and these strikes only add to thier hatred of the US. If anything, we are just adding hay to the fire.

Iraqi Liberation?
I guess it will be many years before we know how this turns out, but if history is any indicator....

What have we lost?

Cival Liberties: Somehow security is now valued over freedom.

American life: And more everyday

Respect from the rest of the world: Our stubborness, and ego has basically had the effect of sticking a middle finger at the large moajority of the rest of the world. The Un, France, Russia and more

All of this without going into the fact that we have set a veryscary precedent of pre-emptive strikes, and our president is currently downplaying the importance of his facile statements about NUCLEAR FVUCKING WEAPONS!

THis is ugly.

I think you're right, things really are getting out of hand and are definitely becoming real real ugly...

What I certainly got a kick out of, before the war started was Bush on national tv saying how they were going to defend the world from the WMD Iraq was hiding when, at the same time, around the world, on national tv there, North Korea kept saying chanting we have WMD'S....we have WMD'S......

makes one wonder what the deal is....

As with everything there is a hidden agenda. It will take decades to uncover what that agenda was. By that time no one will care anymore. Sad but true.

the funny thing is, those with the agendas will never be touched but instead all the innocent people pay and that includes the sitting ducks, I mean soldiers that are still there...
